 As the area of medical instrumentation has grown, those of us working in the field have become more conscious of a need for improved communication and contact with our peers. Various national organizations provide journals, newsletters and annual conventions. However, this does not fulfill the need for frequent personal contact or a guide to solving everyday problems. Such needs can only be met by a local organization.
To meet this needs, the California Medical Instrumentation Association was founded in 1972 and incorporated in 1992.
The CMIA is a thriving state wide non-profit organization dedicated to serving the needs of the biomedical community and profession.
